The Crawford County Fair Board buys nearly 40 acres of land and makes plans to expand.
The board took a three year lease on property north of Wesley Road with an option to buy. That would be the last piece of property that they would have an opportunity to purchase. The rest of the land is owned by the Housing Authority and another private individual (who uses the land for parking).
"Should they decide to build on them or sell them to somebody, we would have no option... so that's one of the main reasons why we just bought it because there's no other land," explains Bill Winters, President of the Crawford County Fair.
Winters says it's still up in the air what the property will be used for.
The board meets next month to start those discussions.
