Day at the Beach - Labor Day, Part 2

The Labor Day Weekend is summer's last big blast on Presque Isle, but staff members say you need to stay safe, too.

Fewer beaches are guarded now, but that doesn't mean there still won't be a big crowd enjoying the part for the weekend.

Steve Dunsmore, of Presque Isle State Park, tells us, "We do have a lot of visitors from out of town here on Presque Isle to enjoy the park as a whole, not just the beaches."

And, while there's no doubt that Labor Day is the summer's last blast on the park, that doesn't mean there isn't still a lot to do here. Dunsmore tells us, "September can be a very beautiful month here on Presque Isle.  We can have some late summer days along with some early fall days we; just encourage the public to be safe, be respectful out on the park regardless of the area that it is."

If you are planning one last park swim, only beaches 6, 7, 10, and 11 will be guarded Saturday and Sunday 10am to 7:30pm.  Labor Day swimming hours are 10am to 6pm.  Open concessions are on beaches 6, 10, and 11 only.
