Presque Isle Downs and Casino is expecting another big weekend with their annual Kentucky Derby celebration.
“Drive-Thru” Wagering will return in the lower parking lot from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday for the Kentucky Derby. The Post Time for the Derby is slated for 6:37 p.m. This unique wagering experience will offer people 18 and older the chance to bet on their favorite horses for the first leg of the Triple Crown Races.
For those who wish to enjoy the festivities inside, Presque Isle Downs & Casino has wagering available in the Mutuels area, The Brew Brothers, and the outside patio.
Derby Day traditionalists can take home a commemorative Kentucky Derby Glass, free with purchase of a $5 Mint Julep. The casino is also featuring a Fancy Fillie Hat Contest in The Brew Brothers at 5 p.m. The winner of the hat contest will win dinner for four at the award-winning LBV Steak & Pasta. Registration will begin at 4 p.m. at the Brew Brothers.
Standing Room Only for the Derby Party will begin in The Brew Brothers at 5:00 p.m. for $10 per person.
“The Kentucky Derby is an exciting event at Presque Isle Downs. It also signifies the start of our live 100-day race meet, which begins Sunday, May 21,” said Jeff Favre, vice president and general manager of Eldorado’s Presque Isle Downs & Casino.
Drive Thru Wagering will be available on all three legs of the Triple Crown, including the Preakness (May 20) and the Belmont (June 10) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
