Two organizations are working together to build a green bus shelter.
The Sisters of St. Joseph Neighborhood Network and the Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority are asking for ideas. The organizations are accepting design applications for an eco-friendly, artistic new bus shelter. The winning design will take the place of the current bus shelter at the corner of State and West 18th Street.
Heather Caspar, SSJNN Executive Director says, they will "get $18,000 to construct it. EMTA will actually install it here and it will be a piece of art for the community and also show green technology in public spaces."
Applicants have until July 31st to submit designs.
