Davon McLaurin pleads guilty after going back and forth

It was a back and forth game in court during the plea hearing of 26-year-old Davon McLaurin, an Erie man who was allegedly involved in a shooting in April.

McLaurin, one of the suspects in an Erie shootout, who was expected to plead guilty today did not enter a plea at first.  McLaurin appeared for a guilty plea hearing, his attorney saying the defense and the Commonwealth negotiated a plea agreement.

However, McLaurin, saying he did not want to accept the plea, stalled the process for a short time.  He is charged as one of the shooters in an incident caught on video outside the Kwik Fill gas station in the 1100 block of East Lake Road.

After some discussion with his council, McLaurin finally decided to enter a guilty plea today.

Two other men face charges in this shooting: 33-year-olds Markcail Williams and Shawn Smith.

McLaurin's sentencing is scheduled for November 20th.
