Edinboro University changes its tune toward music majors

Edinboro University begins a major transition, discontinuing some programs and changing others.  This is the last year students can enroll as a music major.  Students who are already in the program are still on track to graduate with the degree.

University officials say this is part of a bigger plan make the curriculum more fitting and appealing for students.  Angela Burrows, Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Communications, says, "The programs that are being discontinued are being discontinued because of under-enrollment. Many are morphing into something better. So, in the case of the music program, there are two music degree programs which are being discontinued but we are continuing a music presence on campus."

Burrows assures students music remains a priority at the school.  She tells us when everything is finalized they will announce their full list of new programs.
