Emergency management will crack down on clean sidewalk enforcement by the end of next week

Many sidewalks in Millcreek are still snow-covered and slick, but the township says they're not enforcing sidewalk cleaning just yet.

Millcreek's Director of Emergency Management, Matt Exley, saying the township tries to use common sense in code enforcement.  They realize the snow is compacted and heavy and that residents may not have been able to keep up with the extreme snowfall.  They're allowing more time than usual for residents to get those sidewalks clear.

They will, however, start to crack down by the end of next week.  They say businesses are expected to keep their sidewalks clear because they have the resources to do so.  They've been having issues with businesses following the code and say they're subject to pay a per day fine as a result.
