An Erie boy is celebrating his birthday at the place that saved his life.
Austin Zurick held his fifth birthday party at the Community Blood Bank. Austin was born with acute liver failure. He needed more than 30 blood transfusions to be alive today. So, the Zurick family is thanking those who donate blood so Austin can see his fifth birthday.
"Without that constant support," says Lauren Zurick, Austin's mother, "without the people who are constantly coming out here every time they're ready to donate and eligible to donate, we wouldn't have the blood supply. We wouldn't have had the products that Austin needed."
Austin chose the Lion King as the theme of his birthday party at the Community Blood Bank.
