Erie Cemetery coyote has pups; demeanor changes

Officials ask the public not to seek her out

The long-time coyote at the Erie Cemetery has been sparking some controversy lately.

Cemetery officials tell us Maxine had a few puppies.  Watching over the pups has changed her normal, friendly demeanor.  Officials tell us they're trying to remove her from the grounds to keep her and the visitors as safe as possible.

"That includes trying to trap her," explains Clarke Kuebler, Erie Cemetery General Manager.  "We've talked to the game commission. We don't want to do anything to her untold, but at the same time we need to be responsible."

Officials ask that people do not seek her out or taunt her when they're visiting the cemetery.
