Erie firefighter dies after Florida crash

FROSTPROOF, Fla. -- An Erie firefighter has died following injuries he suffered in a crash that killed his mother and left his sister in critical condition on Tuesday night.

Jacquell Bradwell, 31, of Lake Wales, was driving a Ford Expedition that crossed a median and hit a car in another lane that killed Kathryn McKenrick, 71, of Edinboro. Bradwell also died from his injures in the crash in Frostproof, Fla., on U.S. 27.

Kathryn McKenrick was driving a Lincoln Towncar that was carrying her son, Steven McKenrick, 44, and daughter, Janice Servick.

Steven McKenrick, who is a 14-year-veteran with the Erie Fire Department, died Thursday, according to family members.

Servick was reported to be in critical condition.

Kathryn McKenrick, along with Steven McKenrick and Servick, were visiting their father, who was recovering from surgery.

Angelica Hampton, who was a passenger in Bradwell's car, told deputies that Bradwell swerved to miss an animal that ran in front of the Ford Expedition. Hampton suffered injuries but was reported to be in stable condition.
