Students at one local elementary school will have food to take them through the holiday break, thanks to employees at Erie Insurance.
Many of these students depend on the school day for the majority of their meals. Meghan Easter, Community School Director, says, "...not having that over the long stretch of winter break can be a stressor for some of our families so it's nice to know that they can go home with a bag of food to supplement during the holiday season".
Erie Insurance handed out 500 bags of food to the students at Pfeiffer Burleigh Elementary. Employees donated items such as rice, fruits, oatmeal and snacks.
Erie Insurance has been a longtime partner with Pfeiffer Burleigh and serves as its corporate sponsor through the community schools strategy.
