The building located at 703 Holland Street is soon to be occupied by its original owner. Erie Insurance is leasing the former Lake Erie Ballet building to Grace Church for the next year. This building previously served as the meeting place for Grace Church from 1906-1959 until the congregation moved to Millcreek. Grace plans to revitalize the building in the next 12 months. Once the work is completed, Grace Church intends to assume ownership of this building.
“We are pleased to know that the building will be brought back to life and put to good use by Grace,” says Erie Insurance Senior Vice President of Corporate Services Jeff Brinling. “We look forward to working with them on our community redevelopment efforts.”
Grace’s Lead Pastor, Derek Sanford says, “We are incredibly humbled by the generosity of Erie Insurance. It’s amazing to see a company that is not only leading in business excellence but community care and restoration. Grace Church’s forefathers built the building at 7th and Holland in 1906 – and it’s such an honor to receive it back. More than just bricks and mortar, this facility represents the heart of Grace Church to re-engage in our city and bring tangible and spiritual hope and help. We are still considering several options for the primary use of the building, but we are certain it will serve as some kind of ministry center that will help to address needs in our community. We are inspired by Erie Insurance’s investment in our city, and are truly grateful.”
