Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott presents his last mid-year financial report to council. The report projects a final budgetary surplus this year of close to $326,000.
The administration says that all departments are expected to meet their targeted budget.
Over the past eleven-and-a-half years, the mayor says they were able to bring the city out of financial distress through re-organization and by finding new operational savings.
"It certainly was no easy task. We were fortunate enough to have a council to work with us throughout, when you have a stable government you are able to do the things we were able to do," said Mayor Joe Sinnott.
The Mayor will present his final budget to council later this year.
