ERIE, Pa. -- An Erie police officer remains in intensive care after he was seriously injured in a car accident Friday afternoon.
Joshua Vogel, who was sworn in as an Erie police officer in March 2016, was hurt Friday when his pickup truck crashed in to the back of an EMTA bus in North East.
The accident happened just after 4 p.m along Route 20 near Catholic Cemetery Road.
Vogel was off duty at the time. No one on the bus was seriously hurt.
Erie Police Chief Don Dacus said he has pulled through surgery but remains in intensive care.
