Erie police searching for man in weekend shooting

ERIE, Pa. -- Erie police have released the name of the man wanted for opening fire in the city of Erie on Sunday afternoon.

Erie police said they are looking for 29-year-old Brandon Burns, who is accused of opening fire in the 800 block of East 24th Street.

Burns is wanted on charges including simple assault, criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of children.

According to reports, Burns, during an argument, assaulted a woman and then pulled a gun, firing several times in her direction while she was holding a small child.

The woman and the child were not injured, but one of the shots hit a nearby car.

Anyone with information on Burns is asked to contact Erie police.
