The weather outside was frightful but that didn't keep divers from jumping in the water.
Once a week the Erie County Sheriff's Scuba Team tested their skills in the water at Dobbins Landing.
Organizers told us the water was about 36 degrees Sunday.
These events help the divers prepare for calls, regardless of the season.
"It's our typical Sunday morning dive. We dive every Sunday and just because it's Christmas Eve doesn't mean our plans change so we have about eight divers down here this morning to make a dive," said Norma Carey, the President of Erie Skin Divers.
Carey said Sunday's practice is good preparation for the New Year's Day dive.
She told us the water will likely be even colder, with ice, next week.
