Local emergency management reacts to Las Vegas shooting

Emergency management officials across the nation reflect on emergency response plans after any mass-casualty incident. Matt Exley, Emergency Management Coordinator for Millcreek Township just returned from a conference with the city of Orlando's Deputy of Emergency Management, discussing the response to the Pulse Night Club shooting.

Exley says while there is no way to prepare for the magnitude of the Vegas attack, his department is always evaluating their plans.  "What we do after a situation like this is we gather all our plans, take a look at them to see if there is anything new to be learned or anything we can implement in there to make it safer for our citizens."

Exley said one thing his department is pushing for is more involvement in the 'Stop the Bleed' campaign, who offers kits and training on how to stop a victim from bleeding out during a mass-casualty attack.
