One of the world's largest technology companies will be partnering with Erie's Innovation District to help aspiring entrepreneurs. This, just one of the big announcements from the Innovation District today.
Dell is a name everyone has heard of and now they'll be working with Innovation District to make it easier for business start-ups. Erie's Innovation District announcing a major collaboration with Dell EMC to design a quick turn system to help future businesses get up and running quicker and more smoothly.
President and CEO of the Innovation District, Karl Sanchak, says, "The start-up community, the entrepreneurial community that engages here at the center, will have services and capabilities that are first in the market designed by Dell for our purposes."
Velocity Network will also be working with Dell on the design. Douglas Lieberman, Representative of DELL EMC, says, "I run a worldwide business that is designed to create solutions and services. So, partnering with Erie, we're going to be able to create this innovation as a service. By creating this, we'll be able to help Erie, but also leverage this capability worldwide."
Erie Insurance partnering with this Innovation District announcing this space as the initial downtown headquarters allowing aspiring entrepreneurs to work side-by-side with established employees. That innovation space located in the 700 block of State Street.
Tim Necastro, President and CEO of Erie Insurance, says, "It's a combination of having the depth of experience and the new ideas. We think this will ignite a lot of activity for the city of Erie."
All of this working toward Sanchak's goal to establish Erie as the hub for data science, safety and cybersecurity. "There's something here in Erie that's exciting," says Sanchak. "It's the right place to be. Companies are getting that message and they're buying in and saying, 'I want to be a part of that excitement.'"
Ben Franklin Technology Partners also announcing low-interest loans that will be available for business start-ups. The Innovation District says they will begin taking applications for those loans in January. They also launched a new website today, to visit, click here.
