Fire departments in Crawford County were kept busy last night with fires and trees felled by the storms. Fire crews from Springboro & Conneautville responded to a house fire at about 1:30 am that may have been caused by a lightning strike. Residents at 3651 Jerusalem Road in Springboro reported a bright flash and a loud clap of thunder just before flames were seen on the side of the home. They attempted to extinguish the fire with buckets of water while waiting for the fire department to arrive. No injuries were reported from the fire.
A number of departments responded to calls for trees down and wires knocked down by winds. No road closings are reported at this hour as a result these problems.
