Erie firefighters coming to the rescue to keep kids warm.
The firefighters raised more than $5,000 to purchase nearly 200 new coats for kids as part of the Fourth Annual Operation Warm. The coats were distributed at four of GECAC's Head Start locations including Shiloh Baptist Church. After receiving their coats, the kids had the chance to go outside and explore a fire truck.
Firefighter Leonard Trott says, "We like to give back wherever we can in the city... Do what we can."
CEO of GECAC, Danny Jones, tells us, "This effort can make sure that we have kids that are warm and comfortable and can be safe..."
