First annual Beth Clark Memorial Fundraiser

As the Clark family set up for Arts, Crafts and Drafts, their first annual Make-A-Wish fundraiser, they remembered Beth.

She would've been 40 years old this week.

"I think she's up there smiling down on us and saying 'good job everyone," said Anne Haas, Beth's God mother.

Family members told us the Garfield loving 11-year old suffered from Hodgkin's disease.

But, her Make-A-Wish trip to Disney World took away some of the pain.

Her mom Nancy said the trip let her daughter feel like a kid again.

After Beth passed away in 1988, Nancy dedicated her spare time to granting wishes and with the Beth Clark Memorial she hopes to give even more kids the same opportunity.

Nancy Clark said, "they forget about the illness. They forget about the white coats, the nurses the doctors the treatments, the pokes, the prods."

"It was too important to us and something that I think about everyday so it's nice to know that we can try to help give back a little bit," said Joshua Clark, Beth's brother.

He said granting wishes is the best way to honor his big sister Beth.

"No matter how bad it is or how many hopsital visits or how many bad days they might have that if they get a wish it can kind of take them out of that and give them something else to look forward to," Joshua Clark said.
