Flood repair may cost over $500,000

Sunday's flooding in Millcreek Township could cost more than half a million dollars as the township continues to collect data on the damage.

Two days after the storm, Millcreek township engineers, the emergency management team, and even Penndot are collaborating on how to fix problem areas in the township.

It's a culvert under the 4200 block of West 26th Street.  Sunday the water was overflowing, spilling out into yards, homes and businesses.  The back-up caused the basement in one Erie owner's home to fill up with nearly six feet of water, destroying everything.

Emergency management officials say Millcreek has not experienced a flash flood event that has been this bad since 2009, hitting its 100 year storm totals in only three hours.
