Former Millcreek Hospital employee sentenced for sexual assault

ERIE, Pa. -- A former Millcreek Community Hospital employee was sentenced to prison for sexually assaulting a young patient.

Richard Clark, 38, of Erie, was sentenced to spend two years and four months to five years in prison for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old patient while he was a behavioral health technician at Millcreek Hospital. The sexual assaults occurred between Feb. 9 and March 9, 2015.

The girl was impregnated by Clark after the abuse.

"I apologize to the victim and take responsibility for my actions,” Clark said while addressing the judge Tuesday.

Clark pleaded guilty in November to charges of statutory sexual assault and corruption of a minor.

Clark must register as a sex offender for 25 years and will spend seven years on state probation after he is released. Clark must also write a letter of apology to the victim.
