A public park is getting a new look thanks to community members and volunteers. The clean up at Griswold Park was put on by the Union Square CARE Team.
CARE stands for Caring About Revitalizing Erie; it's an initiative started by the Erie Downtown Partnership. "It's all about activating people, activating places" says Emily Fetcko, EDP, "and getting people to enjoy the downtown more."
Jeremy Laurin, CARE Captain, says, "We just did some cleaning up--a little bit of weeding, picking up trash. We also are taking a lot of this back to the city [to] see what resources we can get from them to get some bigger efforts done."
The clean up prepares for the block party in Griswold Park on August 24th.
