Businesses along Erie's West 12th Street corridor are showing pride. Several signs posted along West 12th Street from Greengarden to Sassafras streets are part of an ongoing effort highlighting its growth and change.
It began in response to 2016's national news story painting a grimm picture of Erie. Businesses on 12th, like Amatech, are happy to see positive attention. President of Amatech, Dave Amatangelo, tells us, "you are going through the heart of Erie and so much has changed from heavy industrial, but at the same time, there are so many new businesses coming in... refurbishing them from that standpoint; it's important to have it look good".
The signs support the mural on American Tinning and Galvanizing, the company behind the campaign.
