December 5th, 2017 - ERIE, Pa - The first day of testimony wraps in the murder trial of Marquis Knight.
Knight is on trial for the murder of 19 year old Allen Basham. Basham was found dead with three gunshot wounds in a parking lot in the 1100 of West 26th Street in April of 2016.
Prosecutors from the Erie County DA's office are saying, "the defendant, Marquis Knight, made a choice and acted on that choice, resulting in a devastating consequence...the death of Allen Basham."
However, the defense is arguing self defense, stating that, "Marquis Knight was defending himself and his passenger in the car that night."
Jurors heard witness testimony today. The trial continues tomorrow.
