Humane Society opens new pet clinic

Low-income families will have access to affordable pet care after the Humane Society of Northwestern Pennsylvania cut the ribbon to a new clinic Friday morning.

The Humane Society has partnered with Glenwood Pet Hospital to offer low-cost options for veterinary care to low-income families. The new clinic is located next to the Humane Society, 2407 Zimmerly Road, and will provide entry-level veterinary care including vaccinations, spay and neutering.

"I am feeling wonderful,” executive director Nicole Bawol said, “because right now we serve all of the needy animals in our community that come in who are orphans or injured and that is such a great service, but now we are also providing another service.”
