The Erie Summer JAM, or Jobs And More, Program is back.
The program is supported by the Erie Community Foundation and the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority. It helps to increase summer job opportunities for youth in Erie.
At today's Career and Resource Day, participants heard from Widget Financial and Erie Insurance on the opportunities they can provide; opportunities to keep them busy during the summer.
19 year old, Joshua Jones, says, "I don't think that there is enough for the youths to do and this really gives us the opportunity to put our minds to more productive things instead of having a lot of free time, because when you have free time a lot can happen."
Many kids have found permanent job placement through the Summer JAMS Program.
