Lake Effect Snow Warning Issued

...Snow to bring slick travel conditions to much of the area for
today and tonight. Periods of heavy lake effect snow to develop
for the first half of the week...

.A developing storm system across the Ohio Valley will bring
widespread snow to the area today and tonight. The initial area
of snow will develop across northwest Ohio by midday and will
spread across the rest of the area going into the evening hours.

An extended period of conditions favorable for moderate to heavy
lake effect snowfall is possible from Monday afternoon through
Wednesday. The area that will be most impacted will be Erie
County Pennsylvania.

...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS
AFTERNOON TO 4 PM EST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. A widespread 3 to 6 inches is expected
  through Monday morning from a system moving across the Upper
  Ohio Valley. Lake effect snow with additional accumulations of
  8 to 12 inches are expected from Monday afternoon through
  Tuesday. Additional lake effect snow is possible into
  Wednesday. West winds will gust as high as 40 MPH Monday. Wind
  chills will be in the single digits Monday and near zero
  Tuesday and Wednesday.

* WHERE...Erie County Pennsylvania.

* WHEN...From 4 PM this afternoon to 4 PM EST Wednesday.
  Widespread snow will intensify after 8 PM tonight and continue
  into Monday morning. A break is possible in snowfall midday
  Monday before intensifying late Monday afternoon into Monday
  night.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions with
  travel becoming increasingly difficult Monday afternoon into
  Tuesday with heavy lake effect snow. Gusty winds will cause
  areas of blowing and drifting snow. Be prepared for rapid
  changes in visibility in heavy snow squalls.
