Learn more about Bethesda Lutheran Services

Bethesda CEO tells us somehow over the years the home became synonymous with 'where the bad kids go,' and he says that's not what the organization is all about.

With a new name, logo, and tag line, he says people will have a better idea of what Bethesda really does for the community.

Inside their brick walls at the newly named Bethesda Lutheran Services, hundreds of children and families learn the tools to have a bright future.

Monique Stallings adopted her daughter after fostering through the organization.  Stallings, Bethesda Therapist, tells us, "She just graduated from Saegertown High School. That was her dream.... to graduate high school and become something and she did it."

Stallings continues, "These kids come in broken and lost but by the time they leave we believe that they have overcome something, that they have learned new coping skills, abilities to move forward in life so this logo has shown what we are. We're not just the children's home we are now services rendering everywhere."

The CEO says this new logo gives a more clear representation of what the organization stands for.

Executive Director, George Trauner, says, "Our youth; our young people, everyday they have mountains to climb. The small one in the front is where maybe they may fall but we help them back up the mountain and be successful."

The logo also represents the organization's Lutheran background with a cross up front, and the light on through the window, tells people the center is always open.

Trauner requested, "let the communities know what we do. Let them know if they know a kid who needs help, promote Bethesda, tell them about Bethesda. Let them know we're here."

The CEO says Bethesda thrives off the concept that there are no bad kids, only kids who need a little extra help.
