ERIE, Pa. -- The life of one Crawford County veteran is now the focus of a new, locally-produced documentary.
It's called "New Boots" and tells the story of 91-year-old Linesville veteran Charles Rudler.
Rudler started in the army at just 19 and was captured by the Germans and spent nearly six months as a prisoner of war before finally making it home.
On Dec. 12, the 72nd anniversary of his capture, Rudler will be escorted around Meadville and brought to the Park Avenue Cinema for a private viewing.
Then, on Dec. 15 and Dec. 22, the one-hour movie will be played to the public free of charge at 7 p.m. Due to high demand, there will also be a 2 p.m. showing on Sunday.
The film was funded by the Molded Fiber Glass Tray Co., the Linesville Rotary and private donations.
