Some Boy Scouts were braving the cold to raise awareness and collect donations for the homeless in Erie.
Boy Scout Troop Number 37 set up outside of Saint James Church with the goal of filling this trailer with winter wear. Once full, the items will be donated to local shelters in the city. The Scoutmaster, Brigitte Kucharski, tells us that doing this work leaves a lasting impression on these young boys. "This lets them help out their community. It helps them to be more mature and better citizens. It gives them an experience of donating their time and their talents, not just their money, so they know they can give of themselves year round."
This is the first winter weather clothing drive the troop has held, but they hope to do more in the future.
