It's one of the busiest candy days of the year, but not for local chocolate shops. Trick or treaters are more likely to find candies like Hershey's or Reese's. The manager of Pulakos Chocolates says that it's no surprise, with some households passing out candy to hundreds of children, but Pulakos says they do have some Halloween-specific goodies for last-minute shoppers like skull suckers, caramel apples and other seasonal snacks.
Alicia Boyd, Store Manager, says, "I know that some people who have a couple hundred trick or treaters that might not be the best for every trick or treater, but if you have a handful of special trick or treaters, come down and give them a special piece of candy. It's made here. It's good chocolate."
Boyd says Easter, Valentine's Day and Christmas bring in the most business.
