Local man makes product to save lives

A product designed to save the lives of first responders is making its world wide premiere right here in Erie today.

The product is called, 'BLOC' and it's a way to keep deadly drugs, like fentanyl, away from those responders.  It's a spray that will trap powder, then dry into a film that can be peeled away to preserve evidence.

The Erie developer who came up with BLOC showed the product to local law enforcement and says production will begin in two weeks.

BLOC Developer, John Kelton, tells us, "My concern right now is how do we get this device to every police officer, every fire and every EMS person before they get hurt, that's my concern".

Fentanyl is so dangerous that an amount the size of a penny could kill more than 1,200 people.
