Man charged with robbing Circle K at gunpoint

ERIE, Pa. -- Erie police arrested and charged a man with robbing a Circle K convenience store following a traffic stop Monday.

Jimmy Carter, 53, is in the Erie County Prison after confessing to robbing Circle K, 2916 Glenwood Park Ave., on Jan. 29.

Carter was arrested after Erie police stopped Carter on a traffic violation Monday.

Carter allegedly pulled a silver handgun on the clerk, getting away with $150 in cash and 30 packs of cigarettes. According to police, surveillance video captured Carter just moments before the robbery occurred.

Police recovered the gun used during the robbery when Carter was arrested.
