Manhunt for Cleveland Murderer Continues

Alleged Murder's Phone Pings in Erie

ERIE, Pa - The FBI and Cleveland Police are on a desperate manhunt for Steve Stephens whom they believe is responsible for a random act of cold-blooded murder. 

On Sunday afternoon Stephens allegedly approached 74-year-old Robert Godwin Sr. armed with a gun.

Stephens then allegedly shot and killed Godwin, streaming it live on Facebook.

Stephens then claiming he's killed more than a dozen others, but police say there is no evidence supporting that. 

Cleveland police initially made contact with Stephens after the incident, but attempts to reconnect with him have failed.

Authorities say they received a ping from his cell phone detected near Erie. 

Presque Isle Downs and Casino telling JET 24 Stephens was at the casino one time last month. 

Five states are now on high alert. 

Pennsylvania State Police tell us they have no credible or confirmed information that the 37-year-old Cleveland man is or was in the Erie area.

He is described as just over 6 feet tall, weighing about 244 pounds.

He is bald with a full beard and last seen driving a 2016 white Ford Fusion.

Stephens is considered armed and dangerous.
