One hospital is working to bring awareness to the issue of violence
The nurses at Saint Vincent Hospital held a March Against Violence Wednesday.
The rally began with a prayer by the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
The nurses organized this event as part of Nurses Week.
Mo Chadwick, chief nursing officer at Saint Vincent Hospital, says, "Our nurses are on the front lines. They deal directly at some of the most vulnerable points with patients and families coming in through the ER who have been victims of domestic violence. It could be in our intensive care unit, or any units anymore. So we really want to be able to partner."
Saint Vincent Hospital is also collecting used cell phones in the lobby this week.
This is so they can be distributed them to people in need so everyone has access to communication to keep them self safe.
