Erie's Islamic community marches through downtown Erie today.
Around 100 Muslims walk from Gridley Park to the Islamic Cultural Center at Parade Street.
Organizers said the march is a message of peace and a call for justice.
They told us the Erie event is a smaller version of one overseas, held in commemoration of an Islamic martyr from 600 AD.
"Terrorism has no religion and it has no face and it definitely does not represent us and we're here with the American people in solidarity and we hope that we stay united," said Maitham Albedhawi, an organizer.
Marchers say the event also honors the American traditions of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
