A new command staff is in place at the Erie Police Department. Newly inducted Police Chief Dan Spizarny and Mayor Schember appoint three long-time members of the Erie Police Force.
Lieutenant Mark Sanders is named Inspector, assigned to the Office of Professional Standards. Lieutenant Mike Nolan is now the Deputy Chief of the Criminal Investigation Division. His brother, Jon Nolan, promoted to Deputy Chief of the Patrol Division and Sergeant William Marucci is now Lieutenant of the SWAT Team.
Spizarny says, "they have been leaders in their units in the department and I think they are the right picks to lead the entire department".
Deputy Chief Mike Nolan says, "I am very excited to begin my new role as Deputy Chief it's not going to be too different because I was a supervisor within the unit but it will be more administrative... and I do understand that, but I am looking forward to it..."
