New PA budget plan may take money from Erie schools

In Harrisburg, it was separate meetings and still no agreement on funding the state budget.

Lawmakers returned to session, but democrats and republicans met in separate caucuses.  One group of republican lawmakers want to use monies currently sitting dormant in other accounts, but that would probably cost the Erie School District $14 million.  

Another plan would borrow and use a tax increase to close the budget gap, still believed to be about $2 billion.
