Downtown Erie has a new addition to its food and entertainment scene. Room 33, a speakeasy-style lounge, is opening at East 11th and State streets tomorrow. The bar and restaurant will feature a full tapas menu with prohibition-style cocktails. They'll also have a focus on entertainment with live music and even films.
Co-owner Rebecca Styn tells us, "...It also has a cigar room in the back. So, you can purchase cigars or you can bring in your own. And there is a TV back there, but we didn't want TV's all over the place. So, we do have a movie screen where we show really old movies in black and white, silent films and stuff."
Room 33 will feature a real storefront coffee and bookshop in the coming weeks, where patrons will have to find the secret passageway to the lounge.
Doors to Room 33 open tomorrow at 4:30pm.
