Oligeri announces run for Erie County Executive

ERIE, Pa. -- Another candidate has stepped forward to announce a run for Erie County Executive.

Art Oligeri, a managing partner of Meeker Marshall Shoe Fly, announced his Republican candidacy for county executive Monday morning.

Oligeri, a lifelong resident of Erie, said his 30 years of business experience will help him lead the county.

“You need a business perspective,” Oligeri said. “You need someone capable of solving the problems we have today. The economic slide is terrible. It is critical you have somebody who is capable of solving the problem.”

Oligeri said if elected, he plans to first tackle job growth by speaking with the area's largest employers on how the county can better assist them.

County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper announced her re-election bid in November. Dahlkemper is seeking a second four-year term.
