One dead in head-on collision last night

Car trying to pass going up a hill slams into another vehicle, causing death

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a head-on collision that claimed one driver's life.  The crash was reported around 5:45 last night on Route 6N, just east of Ivory Road in Elk Creek Township.

PSP say a 62-year-old James Papson of Girard was killed in the crash.  Police say a car driven by 24-year-old Brandon Guianen tried to pass on the hill, causing the head-on collision.  Guianen and a passenger, 24-year-old Aloura Griffiths, were flown to UPMC Hamot by helicopter with serious injuries.  

The investigation is ongoing.
