PA budget update

Some organizations will not receive any funding until a final revenue plan is passed in Harrisburg.  Governor Tom Wolf is urging the House of Representatives to enact the $2.2 billion bi-partisan backed revenue package that the Senate passed last month.

The Governor says if a plan is not passed by Sept. 15th, he will stop spending for certain state programs.  Senate and House leaders are meeting in Harrisburg, as the local representatives are still waiting on a call.

"They are going over what they think will work for both sides," says Representative Patrick Harkins.  "The Senate has their plan which was passed and republican leadership wants a different plan... therein lies the rub.  But how do you get 102 votes in the House to make it work?"

The revenue plan, passed by the Senate last month relies heavily on borrowing, taxing consumers' utility bills and expanding casino gambling.
