Thanks to students at the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School on West 15th Street, patients at Shriner's Hospital for Children receive a special delivery of more than 100 handmade tie blankets.
To celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the school coordinated a Day of Service statewide for all of their students and families. The students at the Erie branch spent their day cutting and tying 120 blankets.
Mike Bergstrom, Regional Office Manager, says, "We just want to take this time because we have in-service today, so they don't have school. We wanted to kind of give back to the community across the state... Because we want to make sure that we're giving back to the communities that we're in."
Once finished with the blankets, the students stopped by Shriner's Hospital to deliver them.
