Pennsylvania State Police Vehicles Get a Makeover

State police vehicles are getting a makeover.

As a part of a rebranding strategy, trooper vehicles are switching colors.

The new cars will be gray to match the state trooper uniform.

In Erie, only the recruitment officers have the new vehicles but Trooper Cindy Owens tells us within the next three years, every trooper vehicle will be gray.

"They're sharp looking. I guess you can see them from quite a distance. We have new reflectors on them which is good because it makes them safer for not just the troopers but also for the public for along side the road,"said Trooper Owens.

Owens tells us once the vehicles have reached their maximum mileage, they'll be replaced with the newer model.

Making the vehicles gray has been an ongoing discussion since the early 2000's.
