A transplant survivor is teeing off to raise moeny for charity and to raise awareness.
Eric Danowski became well known for undergoing three liver transplants in 1988, all before the age of two.
This year, he founded the Eric Danowski Transplant Hope Foundation to offer support to families with similar ordeals. Today, his foundation hosted its first golf tournament at Whispering Woods Golf Course, with more than 120 golfers participating.
Danowski says, "I've got a family of my own, recently married. I have a three-year-old at home. So, my life is what it is today, because somebody donated an organ."
Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Center for Organ Recovery and Education and the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.
