At last night's school board meeting, the district also discussed ways to create safer schools and to help build relationships between students and law enforcement.
Superintendent Brian Polito says one way to support that effort is by offering office space and bringing city police into Erie High School. Erie Police Chief Dan Spizarny says it could serve other purposes. "This is a possibility that a detective may be able to just hold interviews there, maybe the district car may be able to stop and do reports from there rather than having to come down to the station and do them."
The district says an officer from the Erie Police Department could join Erie School district Police in the next couple of weeks.
