Prayer vigil held for refugees

ERIE,Pa - Dozens of people gathered at the Anshe Hessed Jewish Temple for a prayer vigil for refugees.
 
Jewish, Christian and Muslim community members all joined together Tuesday to share their frustrations with President Trumps new immigration policy.
 
An Islamic community leader spoke out saying that America is the Nation of the dream and that everyone should be able to experience refuge.
 
Niken Astari Carpenter became a US citizen in September and shared her story about coming to America from Indonesia. Carpenter told the group that the process is already long and expensive despite President Trump wanting to have a stricter vetting process.
 
Rabbi Emily Losben-Ostrov hosted the prayer vigil so that those of all faiths who object to the policy can protest and pray peacefully together.
