Protesters turn in 6,000 signatures against tax plan

Community members stand together in hopes of sending a message to Washington.

A small group of protestors is urging REpresentative Mike Kelly to reject President Donald Trump's proposed tax plan.  Those gathering today part of an organization called Erie County United.  They say the proposed tax cuts are set up to benefit the wealthy citizens and corporations and hurt the programs who help working families.

The organizer, Kate Koehle, also saying they turned in a petition with more than 6,000 signatures to Kelly's office to denounce the tax plan.  "Trying to bring awareness to what it's really going to do. Hopefully that, Mike Kelly, we can get him convinced that he should not vote for this or support it in any way."

We reached out to the representative's office for comment but did not hear back.
